EQ: How did the Egyptian Civilization develop?
The Egyptian Civilization revolved around the Nile river. They lived in the Nile river valley which is the valley that the Nile river runs through. There was very little rain in the Nile River Valley so they relied on the Nile River for drinking water, bathing, farming, cooking, cleaning, and fish from the river for food. The Nile River is so long it can stretch from Atlanta, Georgia to San Francisco, California and back. On both sides of the river were vast deserts and they were both burning hot, so the Egyptians used them to keep invaders away. The Nile would flood from July to October from Central Africa's melting snow. This made the land around the Nile Valley fertile which they called "Black Land". Another thing that the Egyptians used from the Nile is Papyrus a plant that they made into baskets, sandals, river rafts, and most importantly Paper. The Egyptians used Hieroglyphics which was made up of symbols that stood for ideas and objects. The Egyptians also had a Social class which included Kings or Pharaohs, Priest and army commanders next. Then Traders, Artisans, and shopkeepers. And last and least unskilled workers and farmers.
