EQ: What Happened to Egypt during the Middle and New Kingdoms?
The Middle kingdom started 250 years after the Old kingdom took place during that 250 years were years of confusion then the Egyptians moved their capital from Memphis to Thebes, and a new dynasty began. Egypt captured land to the north and to the south and taking tributes and slaves. During the old kingdom arts blossomed. Painters covered the walls of tombs and temple with colorful scenes of the deities and daily life. In 1670BCE nobles plotted to take power from the pharaoh but they got captured by the Hyksos from Western Asia who were mighty warriors. Then in 1550 BCE Ahmose (an Egyptian prince) drove the Hyksos out and began his reign of Egypt, which began the new kingdom. During the New Kingdom Egypt became richer and powerful and fought wars to gain control of territory. Then a new leader with different strategies became Pharaoh. And guess what this pharaoh was a woman. Her name was queen Hascheput, she had a different strategy which was trade instead of war.
Problem: King Amenhotep while he was king got so involved with his created religion that he pretty much abandoned his job at king.
Solution: When your the head of something you should work your hardest to keep it together wether its a family or a buisnness.
