Dok 2:
The earliest Israelites built in Canaan around 1000 BCE. It is believed that the Israelites came from Mesopotamia. At first their population was small but one day the religion they practiced would affect the whole world. They believed that they were descendants of Abraham. The Israelites believed that Abraham wanted them to move from Mesopotamia to Canaan. The first Israelites were herders and traders. Meanwhile in Egypt life was not good. The Pharaoh needed people to build his pyramid so he enslaved the Israelites. To prevent a rebellion he ordered all baby boys thrown into the Nile river. The bible says that one mother put her baby in a basket next to the nile. The pharaohs daughter named him moses. He grew up thinking he was an Egyptian but one day while he was working he saw a burning bush which he told him to free the Israelites. But in order for the Pharaoh to let them go god sent 10 plagues on Egypt. One of them killed all first born sons which was called the 10th plague. After the 10th plague Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt and parted the Red sea. It would take the Israelites 40 years to reach the Promise land. Although Moses wouldn't live to see it. A leader named Joshua took over and brought the Israelites to Canaan. When they arrived h0w ever they found that people were living there. They believed it was gods will to conquer the Canaanites. They Marched for 7 days around the walls of Jericho while the priest blew their horns. On the 7th day they gave a great shout and charged towards the wall and the walls crumbled and they took over the Canaanites.
DOK 3
I would have tried to go in a more direct route. I would have gone in a more direct route because it probably would have shortened the time of the journey from Egypt to Canaan. It could have maybe taken 5 years off their 40 year journey. Ive seen maps of the Israelites journey to Canaan and they kind of walked in circles for a while instead of going straight to Canaan.
I also might have tried to borrow some camels from some people. Because it would have made their journey a lot faster if they traveled on camels and not on foot and it would also be a lot better on their feet. I'm not sure if they had any camels that could borrow or trade for in that time period but it would have their journey a lot better.
I also would have traveled next to a river if there was one going in the direction towards Canaan because then you would have a water source and also something to guide you to the promise land. You could also make a fishing rod and catch fish out of the river using some minnows you could catch out in the shallow water with your hands.
