The Pompeii catastrophe would go down as one of the deadliest days in Ancient days. Mt. Vesuvius erupted in the year 79 A.D at 1:oo P.M. Romans new nothing about Volcanoes and thought that they would be fine when they saw the smoke. But more about the daily life of Rome. One weird thing that I observed was that they used urine to wash clothes. They actually put a tax on urine. The slaves were left to dirty work to wash the clothes. A Roman Navy general who enjoyed observing nature was one of the only people to get out of pompei because he was one of the only people who knew what was going on. The volcano started to erupt by sending pebbles in the air. Then the pebbles got bigger and were rocks and were deadly. The rocks weights on the buildings would make the buildings fall in.
The Navy general stayed because he wanted to trust nature that everything would be alright but it wasn't. The volcano then erupted sending really hot magma down the mountain. This happened when part of the mountain was blown off. The magma rushed down the streets of Pompeii and killed everyone instantly. Most 0f the people were gathered at the water hoping for rescue. 300 bodies were found there. All died instantly from thermal shock. Their tissue was burnt and their bodies to charcoal. Their wasn't anything left of their bodies but bones. Then there was the 2nd surge that went through all of Pompeii. Which killed everyone, but not instantly. The survivor is very important to what we know about Pompeii today. He would write about it and everyone wouldn't believe him till now.
